This High Porcelain limited edition brings a revered goddess to life, recreating a novel colour scheme of healing light, which releases ¨she who hears the lament of the world¨. According to a common Chinese belief, Kwan Yin lives on the island of Pu-tuo-shan, where her temple is surrounded by a lake of violet light which cures the ailments of all who bathe in its waters. It is said she will not rest until all human beings are freed from their suffering. The image of the goddess is decorated with innovative colours such as hues of purple and mauve and the metallic gold and aged silver of the forest flowers, never before used in a Lladró piece.. Lladro was founded in 1953 when Juan, Jose, and Vicente, three brothers born of local farmers and endowed with great artistic talent, formed a small family company in the Valencian village of Almacera, Spain. Since then, Lladro has undergone an amazing metamorphosis from an artisan workshop to a huge firm of international scope enjoying continual growth. The company management has remained in the hands of the Lladro family, the owners of the firm, since its inception. The creative team started out by adapting styles from past eras, but it was not long before certain characteristics appeared that would soon shape what was to become the unique Lladro style.
