Gres as material differs from porcelain in that it is more opaque and usually partly vitrified. Lladró Gres combines parts covered in matte, semi-matte and, occasionally, gloss glazes.
Gres is a warm and spirited material, recreating the colors and textures of the earth and conferring sculptures with a natural appearance. The glazes used to decorate the pieces never crystallize in the same way within the kiln. For this reason, the chromatic variations are infinite and unpredictable. It also means that every piece is different from the rest.
